The headline "Tea Party Cleans Up $7.5m Protest Mess in Madison" was plastered all over right-wing blogs. The tens of thousands of protesters every day made some mess, of course; but they cleaned it up as best they could, and the "Tea Party cleanup" is just a flat-out lie. The next day, the government revised their estimate downwards a tad -- from $7.5 million to $350,000.
