The Fox News Administration?

There was a stretch last summer during the campaign when Trump did not appear on any media outlet except Fox News; aside from his dustup with Megyn Kelly, Trump has always been tight with Fox. From the beginning of his campaign, he has been closely associated with Fox personalities Newt Gingrich and Mike Huckabee. He appointed frequent Fox contributors Ben Carson and KT McFarland as secretary of HUD and deputy national security advisor, respectively; he has met with Pete Hegseth, frequent Fox contributor who wants to privatize the VA. Other Fox personalities said to be possible Trump appointees include Scott Brown, Laura Ingraham, Monica Crowley, John Bolton, and Jeanine Pirro. And of course his biggest cheerleader at Fox News is Sean Hannity, though perhaps Hannity is pulling down too much money at Fox to consider a civil service job.

Meanwhile, Trump is bashing other mainstream media outlets as hard as he can. What will this mean for freedom of the press in America under Trump? Will Fox be the preferred government channel, while the others are frozen out of access to The Donald? Time will tell.
