The article is largely about whether or not Trump will live in the White House or his penthouse in Trump Tower in Manhattan or Mar-A-Largo in Palm Beach, or how he will divide his time among them. I really don't find that too much of a concern, except that in case of crisis, perhaps it would be better for the president to be in the White House at the center of U.S. power. What concerns me in the article is the following:
His aides say he has also expressed interest in continuing to hold the large rallies that were a staple of his candidacy. He likes the instant gratification and adulation that the cheering crowds provide, and his aides are discussing how they might accommodate his demand.Great. So now we're going to have a president who holds Nuremburg-style rallies. Furthermore, this is Sunday morning, and he has delivered a couple of tweets bashing the New York Times. Bill O'Reilly has editorialized on Fox News that the anti-Trump demonstrators in the streets are traitors. Have we seen this movie before?
“I think Trump has discovered that these rallies are tremendous opportunities for him to get his message out,” said Christopher Ruddy, chief executive of Newsmax Media, a conservative website. “It’s actually sort of old-fashioned, that you want to actually meet people and press the flesh with him.”
